200HR YTT Testimonial
Every teacher’s journey begins with a moment of curiosity and the quiet pull toward something deeper. Our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) is more than a certification; it’s a container for transformation, community, and self-discovery.
We sat down with Elle, a recent graduate of our Embody Wellness Hub 200-Hour YTT, to hear about her experience, insights, and advice for anyone considering the path of yoga teacher training.
The Interview
Q: What inspired you to sign up for the 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Embody Wellness Hub?
A: I wanted to deepen my personal practice and learn more about myself in an effort to better support those around me.
Q: How did you feel walking into the first day of training? What were your expectations or fears?
A: I was excited and open. I had no expectations, but I was looking forward to getting to know my peers. Besides typical nerves, I didn’t have any fear. The studio is very warm and welcoming, so I felt comfortable.
Q: Can you describe a moment during the training that deeply impacted you physically, emotionally, or spiritually?
A: Honestly, the entire experience had a deep impact on me in various ways. One standout moment was the opening circle, which was a wonderful kickoff where we bonded and connected emotionally as a group. It set a great foundation for our connection throughout the training.
Q: What aspects of the training stood out most between philosophy, anatomy, practice teaching, or something else?
A: The practice teaching was an eye-opening experience to real life application and realizing how important adaptability and improvisation is. It also made me very self aware of my internal dialog while teaching and where I can improve.
Q: How did your understanding of yoga change over the course of the training?
A: I have been able to “drop-in” more in my personal practice. It deepened my relationship with myself, my breath, and my peers. I also have a wider knowledge base for my personal practice, such as proper alignment and my personal compensations.
Q: What was your experience with the teachers and the community that formed throughout the program?
A: At first, we were strangers, and by the end of it, we were family. It was really beautiful.
Q: How did the YTT help you grow personally, outside of the yoga mat?
A: It allowed me to be more aware that not everything is as it seems on the surface. Everyone has their own internal climate, and it has increased my compassion.
Q: If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering teacher training, what would it be?
A: To do it for themselves. To not have expectations. Just be present in the moment and do what feels right. If your heart is calling you to join, follow your intuition.
Q: What are you most excited about now that you’ve graduated?
A: Continuing to practice as a lifelong student and learning from other instructions.
